History

One day, a woman nearly died in Kyoto.

Nearly died horribly, too. There were pieces everywhere -- people didn't think she'd make it. And, well, she didn't. Not the way she was, anyhow.

But the reknowned scientist Junpachi Sanryo intervened on this case. After hearing about the horrible accident, he couldn't help but take what was left of that poor woman and try to reassimilate her. It wasn't gonna be easy. He was going to need some extra parts. A lot of extra parts. Robot parts.

Sanryo was known for his pioneering android nanochip technology -- not for this. So he kept it off the press's radar and put the woman back together again, with a few parts more metallic (and squiddy) than normal. He did it fast, too -- like in two days or something. When he was done, he pressed the "on" button,

and she woke back up.

. . .

Wish I could say that she returned to her life normal and happy. Well, she didn't. Her family was not the same. She was not the same, and they could see that. To them, she had died horrifically a few days ago. They held the funeral despite the walking, talking new Loved One they saw before them. She...didn't seem to care. She didn't remember anything at all. "This is your family," Dr. Sanryo told her. She didn't believe it.

It was like all the world was new to her, like it had just formed before her eyes. Yet, in her restructuring, she seemed to have acquired more knowledge than she could possibly posses previously, or at least more than she had ever demonstrated, like the ability to play the theremin and sort the whites from the colors. She decided she would abandon her old life, which had ended anyway, and start anew; she adopted the good doctor's name for her, "Alpha Project" (but with one minor alteration) and declared him her savior.

And from there, her life and her encounters would begin getting all the weirder.
